A skilful maker Merlapaka Gandhi didn’t stick to one particular genre and attempted different subjects, though comedy is his biggest strength. In fact, he made sure, there is adequate entertainment in all his movies. The director is presently making a film with young and promising hero Santosh Sobhan who has scored few superhits and has made mark for himself. In fact, this is second collaboration as Merlapaka Gandhi provided story and screenplay for Santosh’s bumper hit Ek Mini Katha.

Jathi Ratnalu fame Faria Abdullah is playing the leading lady opposite Santosh Sobhan in the love and entertainer with a unique concept. Aamuktha Creations is producing the movie, in association with Venkat Boyanapalli’s Niharika Entertainment that delivered the blockbuster Shyam Singha Roy. The film is in last leg of shooting.

The makers have announced title of the movie, besides releasing its first look poster. The film gets a crazy title- Like Share & Subscribe. These are regular terms used to promote video content on YouTube. The title logo looks very interesting with symbols denoting each word.

The first look poster is much more intriguing with Santosh Sobhan, Faria Abdullah and Nellore Sudarshan are in jungle, giving weird expressions while looking up, in the top angle. The title and the first look poster suggest, the story of the movie is going to be very distinctive one.

Praveen Lakkaraju helms the music department, while Vassant is the cinematographer and Avinash Kolla is the production designer.

Hyderabad, Sep 5 (SocialNews.XYZ) Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday predicted that a non-BJP government will definitely come to power at the Centre in the next elections and assured farmers that it will provide free electricity to farmers across the country.

Rao called for sending the BJP home in 2024. He urged people to back the slogan for "BJP-Mukt Bharat" and elect a democratic and secular government.

Addressing a public meeting in Nizamabad after inaugurating an integrated district collectorate complex, he, terming Narendra Modi government anti-farmer, said it was not ready to spend 1.45 lakh crores to provide free electricity to farmers but looted Rs.12 lakh crore in the name of Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) and loan waivers to corporates.

Claiming that Telangana is the only state in the country supplying 24 hours free electricity to farmers, KCR announced when a non-BJP government comes to power, this will be extended to the entire country.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief alleged that Prime Minister Modi is hatching a conspiracy to install water meters to agricultural borewells.

He slammed the Modi government for not buying agriculture produce from the farmers, not ensuring remunerative prices, and for conspiring to capture the lands of farmers.

"The BJP at the Centre has been selling everything like airports, ports, banks and industries. Now there is conspiracy to grab the lands of farmers," he said.

The Chief Minister said under BJP's rule unemployment has increased in the country and rupee has fallen to a record low. Nothing has been done for Dalits, weaker sections and women, he added.

He alleged that Modi is only busy in toppling the opposition governments in states.

The TRS leader said with the blessings of people he would be entering the national politics. He said a beginning would be made from Nizamabad.

KCR called for debate on what is happening in the country and for an awareness among people. He said the BJP government which was fueling religious madness and hatred must be sent home.

"Should we allow the nation burn in the flames of religious madness. Do you wish to see water flowing in the canals or the blood. Do you want to see crops or the blood drops," he asked and urged the Indian farmers to ponder.

Hyderabad, Sep 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) Hyderabad police on Tuesday foiled an attempt by Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti to take out a bike rally to oppose what it calls restrictions being imposed on immersion of idols of Lord Ganesh in Hussain Sagar lake.

Three days ahead of the immersion procession, the Samithi leaders tried to take out the rally around the lake in the heart of the city.

Since there was no permission for the bike rally, police stopped the participants and took them into custody. They included General Secretary of the Samiti, Bhagavanth Rao.

There was mild tension on Tank Bund when Samiti leaders and workers gathered there to take out the bike rally. When stopped by the police, they raised slogans and tried to resist arrests.

Samithi, which organises the annual festivities, demanded that the government allow immersion like in the past without any restrictions.

It has given a call to all the Ganesh mandap organisers to line up the idols for immersion in Hussain Sagar on the final day, in obvious contravention of the Telangana High Court's orders and subsequent Supreme Court orders last year, prohibiting immersion of idols made of Plaster of Paris (PoP) in Hussain Sagar and other lakes.

The nine-day festivities, which began on August 31 with the installation of thousands of idols, will culminate on September 9 with a massive immersion procession. Idols from various parts of twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and outskirts are brought to Hussain Sagar for immersion.

As per the orders of both the High Court and the Supreme Court, the authorities have announced that immersion of idols made of PoP will not be allowed in Hussain Sagar and other lakes.

Such idols will have to be immersed in baby/artificial ponds. This year the authorities have built 50 ponds in addition to the 25 already existing for immersion of idols.

The Samiti, however, dismissed the artificial ponds created by authorities as against aHindu Dharma', as the idols should be customarily immersed in only natural water sources.

Telangana High Court on September 9, 2021 directed the state government not to allow immersion of Ganesh idols made of PoP in Hussain Sagar Lake and other lakes in and around Hyderabad.

On a petition filed by the state government, the High Court refused to modify its order. The state government subsequently filed an appeal in the Supreme Court. The apex court allowed immersion of PoP idols for one last time.

The court directed the government to permit immersion of PoP Ganesh idols in baby ponds constructed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) or separate areas/ponds which do not result in the spread of pollution into the main water body.

The High Court reiterated its earlier judgement recently and asked the government to issue orders about alternative arrangements for idols made of PoP.

The Samithi, however, argued that the judgment for the contempt case from 2013 was a fallout of the government's lack of response to the court about the measures taken with regard to an earlier order. According to the Samithi, the earlier order merely said the immersion should be decentralised, and that the remains of the idols and other debris have to be removed and recycled.

Bhagavanth Rao cited a report by Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI) which said PoP idols are not affected even after 10 days of contact with water, and that large idols can be safely withdrawn from the lake after immersion.

The Samithi also argued that the High Court did not issue any directions to it, and there is no ban on the PoP idols. Bhagavanth Rao demanded that the government should take initiative to remove the hurdles for immersion as the Kerala government had done in case of Sabarimala verdict and Tamil Nadu government in case of Jallikattu.

Amaravati, Sep 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) A youth in Andhra Pradesh poured acid into the mouth of a minor girl and slit her throat when she resisted his attempt to sexually assault her.

The shocking incident occurred in a village in SPSR Nellore district on Monday night when the 14-year-old girl, a class 9 student, was alone in her house.

After the accused barged in to the house, in an effort to save herself, the victim ran into the washroom and locked herself from inside.

The youth broke open the door and tried to sexually assault her. As she resisted his attempt, he attacked her with toilet cleaning acid, pouring it into her mouth and face. When she started screaming, the assailant slit her throat with a knife and escaped.

When the neighbours found the girl lying in a pool of blood, they alerted her parents, who had gone for some work.

The victim was shifted to a hospital and her condition is stated to be critical.

Police have arrested the accused, identified as Nagaraju. He is said to be a relative of the victim.

Police suspect that some others might have helped the accused.

The incident triggered public outrage. People demanded harshest punishment to the culprit.

The state's Agriculture Minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy visited the hospital and called on the victim's family members and enquired with doctors about her condition.

The Minister told reporters that the police booked the accused for attempt to rape and murder.

He said the case had been registered under non-bailable sections and assured that all steps would be done to ensure completion of the probe in an expeditious manner to award harshest punishment.

Nellore district Superintendent of Police, Vijaya Rao also visited the hospital. He said the police were investigating and would soon come out with all the details.

Sources claim that Jayam Ravi will be playing in this film, a character that he hasn't played in any of his earlier movies so far.

Actress Keerthy Suresh will be sharing screen space with Jayam Ravi for the first time in this action-thriller that will be laced with family sentiments.

Actress Anupama Parameswaran will also be seen playing a pivotal character in the film, which will also feature comedian Yogi Babu and National Award winner Samuthirakani.

The gripping first look motion poster of Siren released recently has heightened expectations from the film.

The film will have music by G.V. Prakash and cinematography by Selvakumar SK.

Hyderabad, Sep 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) As many as 33 students at a government-run girls' hostel in Telangana's Warangal district fell ill due to food poisoning.

The incident occurred at the hostel of tribal girls' Asham high school at Wardhannapet on Monday night.

The girls started complaining of vomiting, stomach ache after taking dinner.

The seriously ill girls were shifted to the MGM Hospital in Warangal. Thirteen students have been admitted to a special ward. Doctors said their condition was now stable.

A girl undergoing treatment at the hospital said she noticed a dead lizard in the food and stopped eating. Though she informed the in-charge, he told her that it was not a lizard but a green chilli. Few minutes later, several students started vomiting and also complained of stomach ache and loose motions.

A total of 33 students were taken ill and 13 of them had severe symptoms. The officials shifted them to the MGM Hospital and worried parents of the students rushed to the hospital.

Education department officials have ordered an inquiry. They said strong action would be taken against those found responsible.

Meanwhile, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay demanded that the affected students be shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment. He claimed that 60 students were taken ill.

He voiced concern over a series of such incidents reported at residential schools during the last two months. He alleged that the state government has failed to ensure quality food at the residential schools.

Mumbai, Sep 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) Shiv Sena's farmer leader Kishore Tiwari on Tuesday slammed the ruling coalition of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Bharatiya Janata Party Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis for the record number of farmers' suicides this year in Maharashtra.

Considering the terrible scenario, instead of tackling the agrarian crises which has assumed demonic proportions, ministers and leaders of the Shinde-Fadnavis are "busy dancing" in different areas, claimed Tiwari, who is Chairman of the Vasantrao Naik Sheti Swavlamban Mission (VNSSM).

"This year may prove to be the worst in terms of farmland suicides as from January till date, a staggering 1,050 peasants have ended their lives, and the worst spell started from July-August, which is the peak crop season during monsoon," said Tiwari, on tour of several affected villages.

"Rather than inform the top leadership of the farmers' tragedy, ministers like Gulabrao Patil and Abdul Sattar, or leaders Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Navneet Kaur-Rana, and more, were seen dancing or indulging in 'fugdi' at various festive occasions in recent days..." Tiwari said.

In the past one week alone, over two dozen farmers have taken the extreme step, apparently under the burden of heavy debts from local money-lenders or micro-finances touts but no steps were initiated by the administration or the political leadership.

"In many villages that I am touring, no state official has visited the families of the farmers who committed suicide, and the people have complained that they have not received any aid despite tall claims by the government and ministers," fumed Tiwari.

Giving details, he said the Shinde-Fadnavis regime has made tall announcements on giving aid, but the situation at the ground-level is starkly different and "the grieving families are furious at being ignored in their time of need".

Currently, he said the worst-hit by suicides are Amravati, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Bhandara and Wardha district in the state's eastern region of Vidarbha, and last month (August), Yavatmal alone notched 40 deaths.

The VNSSM chief rued that the Shinde-Fadnavis government is devoted fulltime "to political strategies for winning the upcoming civic elections", even as scores of suicide-hit families in the state are in mourning during the happy festival of Ganeshotsav.

"I urgently appeal to the CM and DyCM to leave politicking aside and spare some attention for the plight of the farming community in the grip of the agro-crisis. After all, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shinde have both promised to make the state free of farmers suicides... Now you are in power, so fulfil your assurance," said Tiwari grimly.

Over the next week, the VNSSM head plans to tour several Vidarbha districts to get a first-hand ground assessment on the prevalent situation with crowds gathering in all villages he visits.

Tentatively titled Production Number 1, the film is being produced by Latha Babu and Durgaini of Duvin Studios.

Sources say that the story of the yet-to-be-titled movie revolves around a murder and that Sibi Sathyaraj appears in three different looks in the film.

Interestingly, this film will have no female leads. However, the story would involve around 25 characters. The film has an ensemble star cast comprising Dileep of 'Vathikuchi' fame, Gajaraj, 'Aadukalam' Murugadoss, Raj Ayyappa, Pazhaya Joke Thangadurai and Vijay TV Kureshi among others.

Cinematography for the film will be by Karthick Venkat Raman and music is by Sundaramoorthy KS.

Sources say that the movie will be shot and completed in a single-stretch schedule across Chennai.

Sources close to the actor say that the film, which is yet to be titled, was shot in a single stretch in and around Ambur in Tamil Nadu in a matter of 62 days.

The film is being produced by Reel Good Films which has already worked once with actor Vijaykumar.

Sources say the just completed film will have equal doses of politics, action and romance in it.

'Ayodhi' fame Preethi Asrani and newcomer Richa Joshi play the female leads in this new film that will also feature 'Vathikuchi' fame Dhiliban, 'Kaithi' fame George Mariyan, and 'Vada Chennai' fame Paval Navaneethan.

Govind Vasantha, who scored the music for the blockbuster '96', is scoring music for this film while Mahendran Jayaram is handling its cinematography.

Celebrated writer Azhagiya Periyavan, Vijaykumar and Thamizh have together penned the dialogues for this film which is being edited by C.S. Prem Kumar.

With shooting having been completed at a single stretch, the team has now announced that post-production work will commence soon.

Chennai, Sep 6 (SocialNews.XYZ) If sources in the industry are to be believed, director Mithran R Jawahar's recently released film, 'Thiruchitrambalam', featuring Dhanush in the lead, has entered the coveted club of films that have grossed a whopping Rs 100 crores or more worldwide.

On Tuesday, industry tracker Rajasekar tweeted, "Dhanush K Raja enters into the coveted 100 crore worldwide gross club, his first Tamil film to reach this milestone. This is just the beginning. PS: it's not easy to score a 100 crore gross with a feel-good film made on a reasonable budget! Fantastic!"

Industry tracker Naganathan too tweeted that 'Thiruchitrambalam' had emerged as the first Rs 30 crore share movie for Dhanush in Tamil Nadu.

He said that the film had emerged a blockbuster.

Another industry tracker Ramesh Bala tweeted that 'Thiruchitrambalam' had grossed $453,918 till Sunday (Sep 4) at the US box office and that the film had during the same period grossed A$236,334 at the Australian box office.

Meanwhile, Dhanush silently dropped a hint about the plot of his upcoming film, 'Naane Varuven', which has been directed by his elder brother Selvaraghavan.

In Tamil, Dhanush tweeted, "Orey oru oorukkulae rendu raaja irundaaram. Oru raja nallavaram, oru raja kettavaram" (In one kingdom, there were two kings. One was a good king and the other was a bad king). The actor also disclosed that the first single from the film would release on Wednesday.
