Los Angeles, July 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) The inimitable combination of Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, who have just wrapped up the film adaptation of the award-winning journalist and bestselling author David Grann's non-fiction book, 'Killers of the Flower Moon', for Apple Original Films, are already onto their next project, says 'Hollywood Reporter'.

The upcoming film is based on another of Grann's riveting stories, the shipwreck mystery thriller 'The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder'.

Set in the 1740s, says 'Hollywood Reporter', Wager's story is set in motion when a patched-together boat with 30 emaciated men land on the coast of Brazil. The men were the surviving crew of the British naval ship, HMS Wager, which was chasing a Spanish vessel and had crashed onto a desolate island in South America's Patagonia region. Their tales of surviving the seas and the elements made them heroes.

Six months later, however, another vessel, even more beat up than the first, ended up off the coast of Chile, this one with three men. These new sailors accused the other men of being mutineers.

As accusations and counter-charges flew, according to 'Hollywood Reporter', the British Admiralty set a special trial in motion to uncover the truth of what exactly happened on the island, exposing a story of not just a captain and crew struggling to survive while battling some the most extreme elements on the planet, but also fighting against their own human natures.

DiCaprio will be coming off starring with Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone and Brendan Fraser in 'Flower Moon', set in the 1920s Oklahoma and depicting the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation.

Scorsese and DiCaprio are one of the great pairings in cinema, and in the last 25 years the two have worked together on six movies that have generated multiple Oscar wins and box-office hits, adds 'Hollywood Reporter'. The formidable list includes 'Gangs of New York', 'The Aviator', 'The Departed', 'Shutter Island' and 'The Wolf of Wall Street'.

Hyderabad, July 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, a rebel Congress MLA from Telangana, appears to have finally made up his mind to switch his loyalties to the BJP.

A member of Telangana Legislative Assembly from Munugode, he made it clear that his resignation and the by-election are certain.

Though senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, on the direction of the Congress leadership, had invited Reddy to New Delhi for talks, the rebel MLA ignored the invite and late Friday night issued a statement.

Rajagopal Reddy announced that he would be sounding the war bugle against the "corrupt and family rule" of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

He vowed to liberate the state from the clutches of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the KCR family, who he alleged to have amassed massive wealth and pushed the state into a debt spiral.

Rajagopal Reddy said he would not compromise on his mission to free Telangana from the misrule and corruption of TRS.

Responding to allegations against him, he said his aim was not to serve his own interests.

In a clear hint that he will soon be joining the BJP, the rebel MLA said his decision was being welcomed by all including the people of Munugode.

The legislator said the efforts to form a people's government would begin from Munugode.

He declared that the next elections would be between the Pandavas and Kouravas, and that the Chief Minister and his "money-distributing army" will face defeat.

He also accused KCR of deliberately ignoring development of Munugode ever since he was elected from there. He alleged that the government was deliberately not completing the SLBC and Brahmana Vellamla projects.

"I had said last year itself that I was ready to resign from my post, if the State government worked to fulfil the aspirations of Dalits, STs, BCs, minorities and other sections. I'm not someone who goes back on his words," Rajagopal wrote.

Ever since his meeting with Union Home minister Amit Shah a few days ago, Rajagopal Reddy stepped up attacks on the Congress party.

He stated that only BJP is capable of defeating TRS.

He had also remarked that if summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi should appear before it.

The Central leadership of the Congress party took serious note of his remarks but avoided taking any strong action. The leadership had asked Digvijay Singh to hold talks with Rajagopal Reddy to persuade him to stay in the party.

However, by avoiding the meeting he has sent clear signals that he will quit Congress and join BJP.

Though the MLA had been making bitter attack on the party, the leadership was handling the issue carefully in view of the fact that his brother Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is a MP in the party.

The party had earlier sent Congress Legislative Party (CLP) chief Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to meet the rebel MLA and pacify him.

The CLP leader, however, failed in his efforts.

Hyderabad, July 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Russo Brothers and Indian director S.S. Rajamouli are the brains behind the most recent examples of this trend - both are known for their action-packed extravaganzas- 'The Gray Man' and 'RRR', respectively. The trio got up to discuss their different loves for the genre and what inspires fans all across the world, via a virtual meet.

Rajamouli found it both satisfying and unexpected to see the Ram Charan and Jr. NTR-starrer 'RRR' grow to become the most watched Indian movie on Netflix, with more than 47 million hours of total viewing time with subtitles in 15 other languages.

"Yes, I was taken aback by how the West received it", the 'Chatrapathi' director admits in the Netflix-arranged conversation.

"Everyone enjoys a good narrative, but I didn't expect I could make movies for everyone, or acquire a grip over the Western sensibilities", Rajamouli stated, during his discussion with the Russo Brothers.

"I had never trusted myself. Therefore, I was genuinely shocked when 'RRR' first appeared on Netflix, when viewers began to watch it, when word of mouth began to spread, and when the reviewers began to give it positive reviews."

All three directors concur that action is the most broadly appealing genre to base their narratives on, despite their shared belief that movies should be anchored in emotion, which Rajamouli refers to as "the basement on which you can create this great extravaganza."

Joe asserts that "Action is a universal language. Geography and choreography are involved. Without words, it can be communicated. Therefore, I do believe that it is, in many respects, the most transcending genre, the most accessible to everyone in the world."

Post their virtual conversation, the Russo Brothers took to their Twitter, to write: "Such an honor getting to meet THE great SS Rajamouli."

Visakhapatnam, July 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Indian Navy on Saturday recovered two bodies of the engineering students who went missing at the beach in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalli district.

The Navy and Coast Guard were carrying out the search operation with two helicopters and four boats at Pudimadaka beach off Bay of Bengal.

Bodies of P. Ganesh and K. Jagadeesh were recovered on Saturday.

With this, the bodies of three engineering students were found while search was on for three other missing students - S. Jaswanth Kumar, B. Satish Kumar and Rama Chandu. The body of G. Pavan Kumar (19) was recovered on Friday.

Local fishermen with 20 boats are also helping in the search operation. "The search operation will continue till we find the remaining bodies," an official said.

Police and the revenue department were also assisting in the search operation.

A joy trip of 15 of friends at the beach turned tragic when one of them drowned and five others went missing. Fishermen rescued another youth identified as S. Teja. He was shifted to a KGH Hospital at Visakhapatnam.

According to police, the students of a private engineering college at Anakapalli town had gone to beach, about 50 km from Visakhapatnam. Seven of them had stepped into the waters. They were apparently pulled deeper into the waters by strong waves.

The beach where the incident occurred is not a tourist place but some people visit the place despite warning signs installed there.

District Superintendent of Police S. Gauthami, who was supervising the rescue operations along with other top officials, said though the marine police do the patrolling to warn people going closer to the coast, an unfortunate mishap occurred on Friday.

Jalna, July 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) Under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Maharashtra ex-minister and Shiv Sena Deputy Leader Arjun Khotkar announced that he is joining the rebel faction led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, here on Saturday.

Declaring his intentions at a crowded media conference, Khotkar said that he held detailed discussions with Shiv Sena President and ex-CM Uddhav Thackeray and Chief Spokesperson Sanjay Raut on his decision.

"I have explained to them the compulsions - which all are aware - behind my decision, the harassment to my family... I am forced to make certain decisions... And they (Thackeray-Raut) have understood my predicament," said an emotional Khotkar, without naming the ED.

To a query, he said that when a person is facing a crisis, he will seek protection from somewhere - an indirect indictment of the central agency which is probing him and his family since the past over two years.

On the central agency probe against him, Khotkar reeled off figures of financial deals pertaining to the alleged illegal auction sale of the Jalna Cooperative Sugar Factory Ltd. by the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) and claimed he was innocent.

A couple of days ago, Raut lauded Khotkar for displaying courage and admitting to the harassment by the ED which had compelled him to take the decision (to switch sides to Shinde camp).

Seven months after he was raided in November 2021, last month (June 2022), the ED attached Khotkar's properties under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in the FIR lodged by the Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police.

Among other things, the investigators claimed that the sugar mill was fraudulently sold by the MSCB to the relatives or associates of the bank's officials and directors flouting norms.

Khotkar's move came after he called on Shinde, another rebel ex-minister Abdul Sattar and a union minister in the past couple of days.

Hyderabad, July 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday slammed the Telangana government for neglecting Musi riverfront development saying this resulted in the flooding of areas along the course of the river.

Reddy visited some areas in Amberpet which are inundated due to recent heavy rains and floods in Musi river and Moosarambagh bridge which was submerged.

Reddy, who is an MP from Secunderabad, alleged that the negligence of the state government in developing the riverfront and checking encroachments resulted in hardships to people in the areas along the river.

He alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government failed to learn any lessons from the past. The Minister told reporters that like last year, the city received heavy rains this year too but the state government was caught napping.

The BJP leader said the state government only made announcements like setting up of a corporation for Musi riverfront development.

He recalled that the government appointed chairman and members to Musi Riverfront Development Corporation. "Only announcements were made. Nothing happened on the ground."

Kishan Reddy said nothing was for the development of Musi river and this led to the areas on the banks of the river getting flooded again due to heavy rains.

The Union Minister also inspected Moosarambagh bridge across Musi which was completely submerged due to discharge of flood water from Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs upstream.

He alleged that the TRS government failed to come to the rescue of people affected by floods and also criticized Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for visiting Delhi when people in Hyderabad were suffering due to the heavy rain and floods.

"What is he doing in Delhi? Nobody knows. Is he doing something there for people's welfare, for his party or he went there for some conspiracy against the Narendra Modi government?" he asked.

He alleged that even in the past when people in Hyderabad were suffering due to floods, the Chief Minister did not step out of his official residence Pragati Bhavan.

Kishan Reddy claimed that the state government did not spend funds under the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF).

He advised the TRS not to make politically motivated statements and come to the rescue of people.

Chennai, July 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actor Ajith Kumar has so far won a total of four gold and two bronze medals at the the 47th Tamil Nadu State Shooting Championship that is being held in Trichy.

Ajith has won gold medals in four team events including the CFP Master Men team event, the STD P Master Men team event and the 50 metres FP Master Men team event.

The Championship, which began on July 24, is scheduled to go on until Sunday.

Pictures and video clips of the actor shooting at the Trichy Rifle Club had gone viral on social media on Wednesday.

Last year, the actor had won six gold medals at the shooting championship which was held in Chennai.

On the work front, Ajith is currently working with H. Vinoth on his upcoming film that has been tentatively titled #AK61. The film's plot will revolve around a bank heist. Interestingly, the unit had erected a giant set resembling Chennai's popular landmark Mount Road in Hyderabad where certain important scenes of the film were shot.

The last schedule of the film is yet to get over. Once the film is done, Ajith is expected to move on to his next project, which is to be directed by Vignesh Shivan.
