Hyderabad, July 27 (SocialNews.XYZ) Tollywood producers appear to be divided over the decision of one section of movie makers to halt shootings from August 1.

While the Active Telugu Producers Guild (ATPG) has announced they will be voluntarily withholding film shoots starting August 1, the Producers' Council has clarified that no decision has been taken yet to stop shootings.

The ATPG took the decision after a meeting with producers, exhibitors, distributors and studio owners, announcing that they would be withholding all shoots until they can sit down and discuss ways to find solutions to their problems.

The producers' body mentioned revenue and costs as their concerns. "Post-pandemic with the changing revenue situations and increasing costs, it is becoming important for producers to discuss all the issues we are facing as a community of filmmakers," the ATPG said.

However, Producers' Council President C. Kalyan said no decision has been taken on stopping the film shootings. Producers' Council, which claims to be the representative of the overwhelming majority of producers, is the producers' wing of the Film Chamber of Commerce.

The well-known producer claimed that the producers who are part of ATPG produce only 40 films a year while small producers make 240 films a year.

"If producers in the Guild want, they can stop film shoots. Our small and new producers run the film industry. They will continue the shoots," he said.

Kalyan also stated that the film industry has different organisations and every organisation is free to make its own decision.

Film Chamber of Commerce President K. Ramakrishna also stated that stopping film shoots is the Guild's own decision. Film shoots by the Telugu film industry will continue as usual, he said.

Film Chamber has also constituted a committee headed by Kalyan to look into various issues.

The committee met on Wednesday to discuss cinema ticket rates, production costs, new movies on OTT and other issues.

Dil Raju, Kalyan, Sunil Narang, Supriya, and Y.V.S. Chowdary were among the producers who attended the meeting.

If film shoots are stopped by leading producers, the upcoming films of actors like Mahesh Babu, Prabhas and Junior NTR may face delays.

Industry analysts say this could deal another blow to Tollywood, which recently started recovering from setbacks caused by Covid-19 pandemic.

Post pandemic, Tollywood has seen few hits like "Pushpa: The Rise" and "RRR" but producers are wary of the changing revenue model.

There is a feeling among many producers that the increase of remuneration by leading stars post pandemic has affected the return on investment.

Theatrical revenues of a large number of movies fell to an abysmal low of 20 per cent. This has already dealt a blow to the industry.

Various sections of the industry are worried over the reduced four-week window between the theatrical and OTT releases. The release of the latest movies on OTT in four weeks is posing a big challenge to the industry.

According to T. S. Ram Prasad, the President, Exhibitors' sector, Film Chamber, that theaters and distributors are also suffering losses due to OTT releases.

He said big-budget films should not be released on OTT before eight weeks after their theatrical release. Similarly, he wants the OTT release of small and medium budget films to be allowed after four weeks.

Chennai, July 27 (SocialNews.XYZ) "Kalaga Thalaivan", featuring Tamil actor, producer and politician Udhayanidhi Stalin in the lead, will be an action thriller and not a political film, its director Magizh Thirumeni has explained.

Talking to IANS, Magizh, who is known for his critically acclaimed superhit films such as "Thadam" and "Thadaiyara Thaaka", said: "Many people seem to have the opinion that 'Kalaga Thalaivan' will be a political entertainer, but the fact is that this will be an action entertainer. This film is not about a guy getting into politics and reforming society."

Udhayanidhi, who is Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's son, is a member of the state Legislative Assembly.

The film's title "Kalaga Thalaivan", which was disclosed only recently, got many to think that it may well be a political entertainer. Magizh, however, clarified: "Kalagam has many equivalents in English. The one that we think will be the most appropriate translation for our 'Kalaga Thalaivan' would be 'Rebel Leader'."

Magizh said the unit has completed the work on the entire film. "Post-production is now on in full swing and is on the verge of being completed," he added.

Sources in the industry, meanwhile, have said the unit is considering getting actress Nidhhi Aggarwal, who plays the female lead in the film, to dub for her character as she has a good voice.

Visakhapatnam, July 27 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a dramatic twist, a married woman who was feared drowned at Visakhapatnam beach two days ago was reportedly found in Andhra Pradesh's Nellore on Wednesday, officials said.

Authorities had conducted a large-scale search by deploying even a helicopter of the Indian Navy after the 21-year-old woman went missing on RK Beach where she had gone with her husband on their second wedding anniversary.

According to officials, the administration spent about Rs 1 crore to search for the woman by deploying resources of the Navy and the Coast Guard. An official said several government departments had participated in the search operations.

While on the beach on Monday night, the woman's husband received a call and he had moved aside while she was taking selfies on her mobile phone. After a few moments, he found no trace of his wife. He suspected that she was washed away in the sea with a tide and immediately alerted the police.

Authorities deployed speedboats and Navy helicopter the next morning as part of the search operation. However, all the efforts by the authorities were in vain as they found no trace of the missing woman. Doubts were being expressed whether she really drowned in the sea.

Meanwhile, police on Wednesday found the woman in Nellore with a man with whom she is said to be having an affair.

A resident of Visakhapatnam, she was married to a man from Srikakulam two years ago. On Monday, the second wedding anniversary, they went to Simhachalam temple and from there came to the beach, where the woman disappeared.

Vijayawada, July 27 (SocialNews.XYZ) A 31-year-old woman, a mother of four, eloped with a 14-year-old boy with whom she had extramarital relations.

The woman from Gudivada town of Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district eloped with the boy to Hyderabad. She had taken a house on rent in Balanagar area and was living with him.

A police team brought them back to Gudivada on Wednesday. The woman has been booked for kidnapping and also under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Circle Inspector V. Durga Rao said the boy was handed over to his parents while the woman was produced before a court, which sent her to judicial custody.

Police investigations revealed that the woman used to play games on mobile phones with children in her neighbourhood. She got attracted to a 14-year-old boy and developed physical relations with him.

The boy, a student of Class 8 in an English medium school, was not attending the school regularly. His parents had also pulled him up for frequenting the house of the neighbor. When he revealed this to her, she planned to elope with him.

Police said on July 19, the woman took him to Hyderabad. Her husband and children had no clues about her whereabouts.

As the boy was also missing, his parents approached the police and suspected the involvement of the woman.

After the woman spent a few days with the boy in Hyderabad, he wanted to go back to Gudivada. When the woman told him that she has no money, he contacted a few friends, requesting them for financial help. When they did not respond, he called his parents and told them that he wanted to come back.

The police teams, which were searching for the woman and the boy at various places in Andhra Pradesh, traced their location with the mobile phone signals. A team reached Hyderabad on Tuesday night and apprehended them. The next day they were shifted to Gudivada.

Amaravati, July 27 (SocialNews.XYZ) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday said that his government is fighting with the Centre to get funds for the relief and rehabilitation package under the Polavaram project.

He claimed that he is making all "efforts to get the funds from the Centre" and has also written letters to Delhi and discussed the issue in every meeting with the higher officials.

The Chief Minister said this during a visit to flood-affected villages in Andhra Pradesh's Alluri Sitaramaraju and Eluru district.

During his visit to these villages submerged by Polavaram in both the districts, Jagan Mohan Reddy assured the villagers that the water in Polavaram Project will be stored at Full Reservoir Level (FRL) only after paying compensation to each and every family and completing relief and rehabilitation.

He also stated that the R&R package must be provided by the Centre, as it costs over Rs 20,000 crore, which is beyond the state government's capacity. However, he assured that if the project oustees, the state government will pay compensation, in case the Central government fails to release the amount.

Reddy also revealed that the Centre owes Rs 2,900 crore to the state for R&R work. The water in Polavaram will first be filled up to 41.15 metres, as the Central Water Commission would not initially approve filling the dam to its full capacity due to safety reasons.

The dam will be fully filled only after three years and by then, everyone will be compensated, he said.

A new revenue division would be created with four blocks likely to be submerged by Polavaram in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, he added.

As several women brought to the Chief Minister's notice that their houses have been inundated by the Godavari floods, he directed the officials to start the enumeration and provide increased financial aid of Rs 10,000 to each of the families who lost their homes. He also promised to build houses for Polavaram displaced persons at the earliest.

In regard to relief measures that were taken during floods, the Chief Minister appreciated the officials for working well in the flood-affected areas. He said that the government will extend support to the flood victims and stated that enumeration for the flood damage is going on and the aid will be provided in this same season.

Hyderabad, July 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Congress leadership has made it clear that Telangana MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy should decide whether to stay in the party or quit.

Taking strong view of the remarks made by the rebel MLA against the party and its leadership, top leaders decided that if he stays in the party he will get due respect but if he quits, the organisation will defeat him (in by-election).

Ever since his meeting with union Home minister Amit Shah a few days ago, Rajagopal Reddy stepped up attack on the Congress.

He stated that only BJP is capable of defeating Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). He also remarked that if summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi should appear before it.

Amid growing demands from several Congress leaders to act against the rebel MLA, party's national general secretary K.C. Venugopal on Wednesday night held a meeting with the party's state leaders in New Delhi.

According to Congress sources, party in charge for Telangana Manickam Tagore, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A. Revanth Reddy, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and MP Uttam Kumar Reddy attended the meeting.

It was decided that if Rajgopal Reddy decides to stay back in Congress, he would get due respect but if he wants to leave the party would take all steps to defeat him.

Though the MLA had been making bitter attack on the party, the leadership was handling the issue carefully in view of the fact that his brother Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is a MP in the party.

The party had also sent CLP chief to meet the rebel MLA and pacify him.

The meeting lasted for more than three hours on Monday but there was no change in Rajgopal Reddy. Talking to reporters after the meeting, the rebel MLA alleged that the Congress has no leaders who fought for statehood to Telangana.

He said those facing criminal cases were given key posts in the party. The MLA said it was a fact that the BJP is becoming stronger in the state.

Rajgopal had earlier dropped hints that he will soon switch loyalties to the BJP.

The member of Telangana Assembly from Munugode constituency, said that only BJP can defeat the ruling TRS.

The Congress leader also remarked that switching loyalties is a historic necessity. He told media persons that he feels that the time has come to move to another party.

The Congress MLA said if people of Munugode want, there will be a by-election in the constituency.

The MLA said the Congress leadership took some wrong decisions which weakened the party. He said that the Congress party is not in a position to take on TRS.

Without naming Telangana Congress chief A. Revanth Reddy, he said that he can't work under those who had gone to jail.

Rajgopal Reddy and his brother Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had openly criticised the appointment of Revanth Reddy as the party chief last year.

While Venkat Reddy recently mend fences with Revanth Reddy, his brother remained a bitter critic of TPCC president.

Slated for it's huge release on August 12, Nithiin's 'Macherla Niyojakavargam', will portray him as an IAS officer. However, the movie has also been dogged by controversy since the alleged old Tweets of 'Macherla Niyojakavargam' director M.S. Raja Shekhar went viral, a couple of days ago.

With only a few days away from its release, this action-packed drama has become a controversial topic, as the director is involved in an online dispute with relation to his political inclination.

Twitter users allege that the director had posted abusive Tweets in the past, but the filmmaker counters that this is not his profile and that a phoney account has been constructed in his name. M.S. Raja Shekhar Reddy defended himself by saying that the spelling of the aforementioned handle is likewise different.

However, internet users were scornful of this and even highlighted his other tweets, in which he had trolled the Telugu Desam Party leaders, so as to show off his support to YSRCP (Andhra Pradesh's present ruling party).

The 'Macherla Niyojakavargam' director has complained to the Hyderabad cybercrime unit in response to this. The director asserts in the written complaint that a few individuals are trying to create unwanted hatred against him, just before his movie hits the screens.

The aforementioned tweet contains a few impermissible phrases and is hostile toward other castes, particularly those who ran against Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Elections and lost.

Social media users who questioned the director's dignity and disseminated such caste-based hatred by tagging the director and the actor in these old tweets brought them to the public's attention.

Amaravati, July 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) The BJP has slammed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for his statement that the Centre is yet to release funds to the state for the Relief and Rehabilitation package under Polavaram project.

BJP's state general secretary Vishnuvardhan Reddy on Thursday found fault with the chief minister's remarks made during his visit to flood-hit areas on Wednesday.

The BJP leader wanted to know why YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MPs were silent when the Centre told the Parliament that there were no funds due to be released to the state.

Vishnuvardhan Reddy said the state government failed to construct houses for project oustees though the Centre provided funds for the same.

Vishnuvardhan Reddy also recalled that YSRCP had promised to develop villages for the oustees and alleged that the state government failed to build even the houses.

He said those components of the project which yield big revenues were awarded to contractors.

The BJP leader also remarked that regional parties have become a curse for the states. He alleged that the vote bank politics was throwing the development of the state to the wind.

Hyderabad, July 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to organise a massive public meeting in Warangal on August 26 to mark the culmination of third phase of 'Praja Sangrama Yatra' to be undertaken by the party's state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

The saffron party is looking to mobilise two lakh people for the massive public meeting which will be addressed by the party's national president J.P. Nadda.

BJP's state vice-president Manohar Reddy said on Thursday that mobilisation of people for the public meeting has been assigned to senior leaders.

Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will address a public meeting on August 2 at Yadadri to launch the third phase of the padyatra.

The party plans to mobilise one lakh people for this meeting.

The yatra will commence on August 2 at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Yadadri and conclude at Sri Bhadrakali temple Hanamkonda on August 26.

The yatra will cover 325 km in five districts -- Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda, Jangaon, Hamankonda and Warangal

BJP leaders said Sanjay will interact with people and hold meetings in three Parliamentary and a dozen Assembly constituencies in five districts.

Union Ministers and several Central leaders of BJP will attend the padyatra at various places.

Sanjay would address gatherings at 15 places. He would visit important places such as villages of Chakali Ilamma, Konda Laxman Bapuji, Telangana martyr Srikanth Chary and Killa Shapur of Sardar Papaiah Goud.

Sanjay completed the second phase of the yatra that had started from Jogulamba Shakti Peetam temple in Alampur, Gadwal on April 14. He started the first phase of the yatra from Sri Bhagya Lakshmi temple at the Charminar in August 2021.

During the two phases, he met thousands of people and listened to their grievances.

The BJP leader claimed that they brought people's issues to the notice of the TRS government and took to the streets to get solutions to the issues.

During the first phase of padayatra, Sanjay covered 438 km in 36 days and addressed 35 public meetings. In the second phase, he covered 380 km.

On May 13, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had addressed the concluding meeting of the second phase at Tukkuguda near Hyderabad.

Filmmaker Karan Johar had even mentioned during the sixth season of 'Koffee With Karan' that Arjun was a "pillar of strength" for the two girls and Boney as they were coming to terms with the sudden demise of Sridevi.

'Ek Villain Returns' is directed by Mohit Suri. The film also stars Disha Patani, John Abraham and Tara Sutaria. Jahnvi's 'Good Luck Jerry' is directed by Sidharth Sengupta. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood, and Sushant Singh. It is a remake of the Tamil film 'Kolamaavu Kokila' starring Nayanthara, which released in 2018.

Chennai, July 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) Several celebrities including actors Prakash Raj, Sivakarthikeyan, Radhika and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar joined fans of actor Dhanush in wishing him a very happy birthday on Thursday.

However, it was actor Prasanna's birthday wish that caught the attention of most netizens, as he shared a never before seen clip of actor Dhanush playing the piano.

Sharing the video clip, Prasanna, who played one of the lead actors in 'Pa Paandi', which happens to be Dhanush's first film as director, wrote, "Wishing only greater heights and even greater happiness to my dear bro Dhanush K Raja. And what more beautiful can you share to his fans on his birthday. Bro, don't kill me for sharing this. I kept it too long for just myself!"

One of Tamil cinema's popular stars, Sivakarthikeyan also wished Dhanush. He wrote, "Happy birthday Dhanush K Raja sir. Have a great year."

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar wished the popular actor a happy birthday and said she was proud of all that he had achieved. She wrote, "Happy birthday to our global rockstar Dhanush K Raja. So, so proud of everything you have achieved. Miles to go. Have a fantastic birthday. May you get all that you want. Wishing you a life full of happiness."

Music director Santhosh Narayanan tweeted, "Happy birthday dearest baby darling Dhanush K Raja sir! You are such a special person and an incredible talent. This year is going to be so epic for you!"

Actor Prakash Raj too took to Twitter to wish Dhanush on his birthday. He said, "Happy birthday dear Dhanush K Raja. Keep pushing boundaries. Continue to seek. Stay blessed. Wonderful knowing you!"

Meanwhile, a special screening of Dhanush's superhit film, 'Karnan', is scheduled to be held at the Rohini cinema for fans to mark the actor's birthday.

Following the show, the teaser celebrations of his upcoming film, 'Vaathi' in Tamil and 'Sir' in Telugu will take place at the same venue.
