Amaravati, Dec 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday granted interim anticipatory bail to retired IAS officer K. Lakshminarayana in a case relating to alleged irregularities that took place in the AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) during the previous TDP regime.

The former director of APSSDC had approached the high court for anticipatory bail. The court granted him the same for 15 days.

The CID, probing the alleged irregularities, had searched the house of Lakshminrayana in Hyderabad on Friday.

The former bureaucrat, who was a key official in the TDP government headed by Chandrababu Naidu, fainted during the CID searches and was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad.

The CID had also served a notice on Lakshminarayana directing him to appear before it at its headquarters in Mangalagiri for further inquiry on Monday.

The CID is probing misappropriation of Rs 242 crore in executing one of the projects. The agency filed an FIR against the retired IAS officer and 25 others including former Special Secretary, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department, and the then ex-officio Secretary to Chief Minister and MD and CEO of APSSDC, Ghanta Subba Rao.

They were accused of alleged diversion of Rs 242 crore by Designtech and Siemens Projects through various shell companies.

The APSSDC claimed that it had procured software worth Rs 242 crore from Designtech Systems but the probe revealed that no such software was provided to it.

On a complaint by APSSDC's current Chairman K. Ajay Reddy, the CID started a probe in July and registered a case on December 9 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act.

Meanwhile, the CID on Monday registered a case against Vemuri Radhakrishna, managing director of Telugu newspaper 'Andhrajyothi' and news channel ABN-Andhrajyothi.

A zero FIR was registered at CID police station in Mangalagiri on a complaint by a CID official that Radhakrishna, along with some others, had reached Lakshminarayana's house in Hyderabad on December 10 when the searches were being conducted and they tried to obstruct them from discharging their official duties.

The FIR has named Radhakrishna, a lawyer, a reporter and a videographer.

Hyderabad, Dec 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) Customs officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad on Monday seized 316.40 grams of gold from a passenger who arrived from Dubai.

The man had concealed the gold valued at Rs 15.71 lakh in voltage up-down AC converter.

According to customs officials, the passenger arrived by Flight FZ-439 from Dubai. A case of gold smuggling has been booked against him.

The airport has seen a series of incidents of gold seizure during the last few days.

On December 10, the Customs officials recovered 7.3 kg gold from four Sudanese who had concealed it in their rectum.

The passengers, including two women, had arrived from Dubai by flight no AI 952.

According to the department, they had concealed 7.3 kg gold valued at about Rs 3.6 crore in their rectum. The same was recovered and seized.

Last week, Hyderabad Customs also handed over 25 kg of gold to Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd (SPMCIL).

The Finance Ministry recently decided seized or confiscated gold will be sold to the RBI only. This does not include gold ornaments or jewellery.

A tripartite MOU between Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the SPMCIL was also signed.

Earlier on Monday, the actress had visited a private hospital, which triggered gossip on her health condition.

The news created wide speculation among the public and her fans got worried about Samantha's health condition. To clear the air, an official statement from Samantha's manager has been released.

The statement denies any seriousness, brushing off rumours about her health. The 'Oh Baby' actress had a slight cough, for which she visited a private hospital. As a precautionary action, Samantha also underwent a Covid test which was only done to rule out any possible infection.

"Actress @Samanthaprabhu2 is healthy. She is taking rest at her home after undergoing a test at AIG Hospital due to a slight cough yesterday. Do not believe any rumours or social media gossips," Samantha's manager told the media.

This clarification from Samantha's team has come as a big relief for the fans who are now wishing her a speedy recovery.

Samantha, who recently participated in shooting for 'Pushpa's item song, had jived with Allu Arjun.

Chennai, Dec 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) Even as he disclosed that one of the biggest hindrances that filmmakers faced while narrating a story were the song sequences that appeared in a film, actor Kamal Haasan on Monday lamented that nobody had made a full-fledged musical in Tamil.

Releasing the audio of director Vishal Venkat's 'Sila Nerangalil Sila Manithargal', the music of which has been scored by Radhan, the actor said, "The biggest hindrance we face while narrating a story are the songs. People might get angry with me for saying this.

"Very talented people have taught us how to mix them (songs with the story) and left. Director Balachander would have good songs without it affecting the film," the actor said.

"I think that it is a deal we struck for business and therefore it continues. I'll tell you how songs are. Please don't mistake me. First it was on tape and on records, then it came on disks and now it is available digitally. But yet, we take pictures with the replication of the disc at audio release events. Songs too are like that. It will be there. Why it is there, even we don't know," he said and pointed out that he had been saying this even when he was 19 years old.

"I was waiting for an opportunity for it (songs) to reduce. The numbers have reduced but the songs continue to be there. However, nobody has ever made a full-fledged musical in Tamil and that is the truth," the actor pointed out.

"This is not a challenge to all directors but a pricking reminder, that should prompt directors to make a musical. A good musical must be made in Tamil. It is not easy to make a musical. You need rehearsals. Everybody has to cooperate for rehearsals," Kamal Haasan said.

The event was graced by a number of eminent directors including Vetri Maran, K.S. Ravikumar, Prabhu Solomon and the entire cast and crew of the film.

Chennai, Dec 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) Actor Manikandan, who shot to fame for his role of Rajakannu in the critically acclaimed courtroom drama 'Jai Bhim', has penned the dialogues of an upcoming Tamil film titled 'Sila Nerangalil Sila Manithargal'.

Speaking at the audio launch function of the film, which was held at the Kamala theatre in Chennai, the actor, who has also played an important role in the film, said, "In college, we used to discuss that we'd someday do a film together. This is a film that has been made by friends. We all used to discuss the possibility of making this film in a tea shop."

The actor, who was visibly moved, said, " My friends will know the frame of mind that I am right now in."

He thanked director Vishal, who he said was his junior in college.

"I have found Vishal to be very inspiring. He would continuously work. I am very happy that all the friends have worked together in this film. This film is an honest attempt," the actor said.

Directed by Vishal Venkat, the film has music by Radhan and cinematography by Meyyendiran.

Amaravati, Dec 13 (SocialNews.XYZ) Andhra Pradesh, which reported its first Omicron case on Sunday, has stepped up vigil with Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday directing the Health Department to take all necessary steps required to prevent spread of the new variant of Covid-19.

At a meeting with top officials, the Chief Minister reviewed the prevailing Covid situation and progress of vaccination.

The state on Sunday reported the first case of Omicron. A 34-year-old man, who returned to Vijayanagaram district from Ireland late last month, tested positive for the new variant.

A total of 15 foreign returnees tested positive for Covid-19. Of them, genome sequencing reports of 10 people have been received. While nine tested negative for the new variant, the result of remaining five is awaited.

The officials informed the Chief Minister that RT-PCR tests are being conducted at the airports in the wake of the Omicron variant. They said a gene sequencing lab will be set up in a week.

The officials also informed Jagan Mohan Reddy that the 32nd Fever Survey is being conducted across the state. The state currently has 1,912 active Covid-19 cases. The recovery rate stands at 99.21 percent while the positivity rate is 0.52 percent.

The officials said oxygen generation plants will be set up in 100- bed private hospitals across the state. They said 23,457 oxygen concentrators, 27,311 D type cylinders are available in the state and added that 144 PSA plants will be available in government hospitals by the end of December.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to coordinate with the Central government and ensure two doses of vaccination are completed to all the prescribed age groups by January.

He also reviewed the progress of works related to construction of village and urban clinics and Nadu Nedu works in government hospitals. He said the change due to the Nadu Nedu programme should be clearly visible and instructed the officials to display 'before-after' photos after completion of the works.

He directed the officials to expedite the construction of new medical colleges and said to create awareness among the people on Aarogyasri on empanelled hospitals, a hoarding should be displayed in village secretariats in this regard. He said village clinics should be made referral points and ANMs in village secretariats should take up the responsibility till village clinics are made available.

He said there should be proper information and guidance on empanelled hospitals and Aarogyasri services and added that the same information should be available in 108 ambulances and these services should be extended to 104 call centres.

Thank you for always ignoring my efforts at being fit and calling me blessed. Thank you for not appreciating my efforts for transforming my body from 45 to 50 kilos. Thank you for telling me 'You can eat anything and it won't even show'. Thank you for letting me know that a 'skinny to fit' journey doesn't matter, it's only the 'fat to fit' that counts. "Everyone is fighting their silent battles, don't make judgements based on what you see, some people are trying to lose weight while some are trying to gain, some stay fit their whole lives by constantly putting efforts. No one is LUCKY.

Both, Regina and Nivetha appear in military uniform and they are seen getting punishment from what it seems to be higher officials. The poster looks quite interesting. She is seen voyaging on a boat carrying different flowers, while fishes jump out of river to catch the glimpse of this stunning diva. Amritha appears to be an apt choice for the role and the film.
